Flexible seating options will allow my students to have choices when engaged in small group and independent learning activities. Currently, my classroom has multiple tables. Students do not have another option for seating besides their table which may lead to boredom, distractions and non-engaged learning. Due to my large class size, I want to make sure that my students have a variety of seating options that will make their learning environment more meaningful, flexible and exciting! Also, I recognize that there will be various learning styles within my class and the flexible seating arrangement may help to support these students by offering a more fun, relaxed and innovative approach to the regular daily classroom routine. I believe the flexible seating will also help with classroom management, focus and inspiration! I will use the flexible seating options during small group reading time, literacy centers, math centers, small group collaboration, independent learning, and as a rewards incentive with the expectation that students will be motivated to apply their creativity and critical thinking skills in a less restrained classroom environment.
