I would love students to be able to make connections through the various characters in the stories. Learning to retell a story will also help my visual learners to stay engaged and develop their language skills.
Research shows that technology helps students gain the skills they will need for the future. There are so many AMAZING technology apps to engage learners in the classroom. In our deaf classroom, my students would benefit from technology through various literacy and mathematical programs. The programs will help them to build foundational skills.
Research shows that flexible seating increases student engagement. Flexible seating in my classroom will help these young learners in being able to choose where they learn from and have options that best suit their needs. My goal is for students to be able to move while learning and stay focused for longer periods of instruction. Flexible seating would also help my deaf learners by giving them options to have choice in where their learning from.
Lastly, hands-on math manipulatives will also help to engage my deaf learners by making lessons more visual. My goal is to use the hands-on manipulatives and visual aids to help aid in their math comprehension.
