I aim to help students who struggle to express their emotions in a positive way. I want them to have a place where they can go and express those feeling. This project will provide me with materials to build a homey, comfortable environment, where children will come to calm down, focus on their academics, as well as express their emotions. The materials I have requested will allow students a sense of security they otherwise do not get. A lot of my students seek security and safety. They want to know they have a safe place to go where they can talk to me and feel comfortable at the same time. The Stuffed Animal bean bag chairs and the beanless bean bag chairs will provide them a soft place to sit and express their emotions. It gives them security and comfort-ability and a feeling of safety. While sitting in the bean bag chairs my students would use the Toy-Fidget- Stress relief toys, to help calm themselves and use self regulation skills. The classroom keepers book shelf will allow me to provide a library with books on handling and expressing emotions. I am also asking for some books including I'm not bad I'm just mad; Kindness Starts With You; and, Help Your Dragon Deal with Anxiety. The ivory and red Oriental rug will provide my students with a place to read the books that is not hard and helps to make them feel comfortable. The multicolored floor lamp and the LED Rope Light provides me the opportunity to provide a more calm environment for students who make need that low tone to function and work through their emotions. The Coping Skills Game along with the Stop/Relax Think Game will help students build social skills playing the games
