We are now on the preparatory stages - choosing the book that we are interested. We will continue to improve and be good contributors of knowledge to everyone.\r\n\r\nAs English learners, we struggle enough in school on comprehension as many words are new to us. With stories that we can relate to, settings we can imagine, names that ring a bell.. we are so happy to read these books.\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you so much and may you continue to help classrooms and teachers whose passion and mission is helping their students.","fullyFundedDate":1746786293583,"projectUrl":"project/improving-students-comprehension-skills/9246175/","projectTitle":"Improving Students' Comprehension Skills Through Culturally Relevant Books","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. C","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8405176"},{"teacherId":5562465,"projectId":9204328,"letterContent":"Thank you all so much for your assistance for Giving my students the love of Reading while in 5th grade. Your contribution has allowed for students to find the joy of reading books from the same author and compare the text. Students are also able to find the joy of Reading by having more options of the types of books that they want to read. Students in our class are completing books and talking about the books with each other. Building our classroom library was a great way to start the academic year. Students were excited and ready to take on our 50 books while in 5th grade challenge.\r\nThe additional supplies has also made our school year better. With completing essays and presentations, the computer mice have been a big help in teaching students how to copy and paste things other places. Students have been able to use the the Social Emotional items during our SEL time and when they are having a difficult time in class or in life, they are able to use the items to assist with regulating their emotions. \r\nAgain, thank you all for your generous donations and I pray that these students understand the ripple effect of your kindness for the rest of their lives.","fullyFundedDate":1746787238339,"projectUrl":"project/the-love-of-reading-in-5th/9204328/","projectTitle":"The Love of Reading in 5th","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Smith-Miles","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5562465_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1532389473067","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-smi"},{"teacherId":9986104,"projectId":9254975,"letterContent":"Thanks to the essential supplies provided through this project, my students have been able to fully participate in their daily learning without the added stress of not having what they need. One meaningful moment happened during a group writing activity—each student had their own notebooks and dry-erase boards, which allowed them to stay focused and organized. In the past, we often had to share or improvise, but now everyone is equipped and ready to learn. It's made a huge difference in classroom routines and learning outcomes.\r\nWhen the students saw the new supplies that had been purchased for them, they were genuinely excited and grateful. It let them know that an attitude of gratitude was present and that someone else in the world cared for them. It was heartwarming to see their confidence grow just from having the right tools at their desks. With the new supplies, we're now diving into a back-to-school goal-setting project. Students are creating personal learning journals where they'll track their progress, reflect on their work, and set academic and personal goals. The materials are helping us establish strong habits from the start of the year—and I'm excited to see how these tools continue to support their growth throughout the semester.","fullyFundedDate":1746785701887,"projectUrl":"project/harpers-hive-classroom-essentials/9254975/","projectTitle":"Harper’s Hive Classroom Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Harper","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9986104_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743705185182","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9986104"},{"teacherId":9986104,"projectId":9229663,"letterContent":"The new texts introduced in our classroom have provided a wealth of skills and lessons that support both literacy development and creative thinking. For instance, the books encourage students to engage with complex themes, which helps improve their love for reading and ability to make connections between texts and the real world. Additionally, these texts have promoted an increased focus on vocabulary acquisition and reading comprehension strategies. Through interactive discussions, students learn to identify main ideas and supporting details and develop a deeper understanding of character motivations and story structures. These books are fostering a love for reading and building students' confidence in their ability to engage with challenging material.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is a dynamic and interactive experience. Students participate in guided group readings, paired discussions, and independent reading time, each designed to cultivate a diverse range of skills. I've noticed that certain students, particularly those who thrive on storytelling or have strong interests in specific genres, are especially enjoying the new books. These students are often eager to share their thoughts during class discussions, excitedly anticipating the next chapter, and using the texts as a springboard for creative projects. The new variety of books are sparking curiosity and helping my students develop not just as readers but as critical thinkers and storytellers.","fullyFundedDate":1744290670152,"projectUrl":"project/book-series/9229663/","projectTitle":"Book Series","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Harper","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9986104_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743705185182","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9986104"},{"teacherId":8405176,"projectId":8807274,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the help you extended for this project.\r\nWe had IAR testing since March 3 and the snacks you gave us helped my students enjoy the test.
