This set includes fiction and nonfiction books, both of which are covered in 2nd grade SOLs. I plan on rotating these through our listening center based on curriculum alignment. My students will have the opportunity to listen to these books, read them and then relate them to things they have learned in our classroom. Interesting books often increase student engagement and understanding of content. Many of my students have reading disabilities and struggle to read on their own. Listening to books on CD help boost their self-confidence while increasing their interest and understanding at the same time. I know my students would be excited to receive such an amazing gift!
