Throughout the day, my students will take frequent sensory breaks in order to increase focus and excitement. Students benefit from an optimal learning environment, a classroom that feels comfortable and has activities that they find comfort and fun in using. The items that I selected will enhance their academic and social learning experience in our classroom, as well as enhance self awareness. We will use the sensory mats in both our calming corner for stress release and in our literacy and math centers for letter and number practice. I will use the yoga activity cards to offer fun sensory breaks, while at the same time teaching my students to follow simple directions. The couch will offer and comfortable and homey area for quiet reading. I carefully selected the items in my project list with student learning, fun, and needs in mind.
