When learning a language, students need to be able to produce output in a variety of ways. Speaking is what most people think of first, but when learning a language, speaking is not developmentally first for students! Comprehension of the language comes first, and speaking later. These whiteboards will help my students show their understanding of the language, without asking them to speak! During immersion language learning students go through a "silent period" where they're so overwhelmed with the new language, they have a hard time producing anything! These whiteboards will give them the chance to share during that time!
