As an art teacher, I try to provide students with opportunities to explore and experience a wide variety of techniques and media. When we paint, there is always the dilemma of where to store the art work safely until it is dry. We end up using empty floor space, the tops of cabinets, etc. I teach up to 10 classes a day. If more than one class paints, we run into storage issues. Even though students try to be careful and respectful of others' work, accidents do happen, and sometimes, art work is damaged. With the use of a drying rack, I hope to eliminate the wet art project storage issue, and preserve the integrity of student work. A drying rack would help our art room be more organized, keep student art work safe until it is dry, and hopefully, would eliminate damaged work from foot traffic.
