In pre-k it's all about differentiation, meeting each child where they are. In my room, we have small group instruction to help target the skills that need strengthening. My 3-5 year olds vary in their literacy knowledge, some students are working on identifying the letters in their name while others are already ready for letter sounds and sight words. A wide variety of materials are needed to provide literacy skills to pre-k aged students. These materials will help small group run effectively so that each student gets what they need and deserve. My pre-k students love to learn, they are curious, academic sponges. The growth they have made this school year excites me! With your help, they can be challenged and continue to grow.
