All of our students are immersed in technology everyday and do not realize the underlying concepts of computer programs or smart phone applications. In our classroom we want to make these advanced concepts accessible while also sparking the intrigue of a future engineers and scientists. A small classroom set of Sphero robots will help students bring the idea of coding and programming into real life. Students will first learn block coding to navigate Sphero through obstacles and eventually move onto studying Java Script and other programming languages. Having these robots is an effective hook to get these students deeply interested in computing and setting them on a rigorous and successful academic path.
