As a seasoned 6th grade teacher I have come to know what my students really need in order to be successful for the year! As many of my students just want to be able to fit in, they also want to know that they are cared for and have a safe and nurturing environment to learn in. Many of my students come from low-income families and unfortunately cannot supply themselves with everyday school supplies or personal hygiene supplies that are much needed in the middle school years. In my class, my students will be learning science and math. For these subject areas I plan to continue incorporating interactive notebooks as my students love being creative and engaged in their learning. Interactive notebooks, however, can be very costly due to the many supplies needed for my students to cut, paste, and create their own personalized designs. By making donations to my project you will not only help me in purchasing these supplies, but help my students to be able to grow more in confidence, both physically and academically.
