Sensory exploration helps a child examine, discover, create, and make sense of the world. Having a variety of sensory materials available in the classroom is very important for a preschool student’s growth. Sensory materials support fine and gross motor skills, cognitive growth, language development, and social interactions all while the child is having fun. Keeping students engaged is the key to teaching and I know these materials will greatly help with that. With these various sensory materials, my students will have a chance to engage in activities that they may not get to engage in outside of the school setting.
