I am wanting to expand the flexible seating options I have in my classroom. My students now all sit in desks and I want to offer them seating choices to help make my students more actively engaged in the classroom. The seating choices give them a way of movement without disrupting there learning. I want to give them choices such as sitting on stools and floor cushions instead of chairs all the time. I also want them to be able to work using lap desks when sitting at places other than desks. My hope is to make students feel more involved in the classroom and make it feel like it is theirs. It will also help develop a sense of community among the students which will improve their social skills. I also want to help them become independent learners by providing these flexible seating choices for them in my classroom.
