Flexible seating allows my students to wobble, rock, bounce, lean or stand, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength. In turn, this burns more calories and increases metabolism. It also helps keep young minds more alert and focused. My students will benefit greatly from flexible seating in the classroom. Flexible seating will increase my students engagement as they would love to use bean bags. They can sit quietly and read a book or even work on the computer. My students will allow my students to choose where they want to work and with whom. It is known that giving students choices about their physical classroom space teaches them higher-order thinking skills.
