My students have been concerned about the growing population of people in Las Vegas that are homeless. Some of my students have faced similar situations or know someone who is homeless. It is very dear to their hearts. My students are very passionate about helping homeless women get the personal hygiene items they need. Personal hygiene Items for women are basic necessities and we would like to help in any way we can. Our original goal was 50 due to funding. My students were so happy we helped so many women we wanted to keep going this year and shoot for at least 200 bags this year! Service Learning is important for youth to become more productive members of society, and youth that give back are more likely to give back in adulthood.
