The requested resources will help make the students' English class a more comfortable environment educationally and physically. Students are empowered when they are able to read books written by and about people that look like them. The books will provide students choices for literature circles which will help them stay engaged in their reading. The other items will serve to make our classroom a more comfortable place for students. By having access to playdough to fidget with and balls to sit on, it allows students to self-regulate. This is particularly needed because of the extra anxiety and stress on students in light of Covid-19.
