These items, an air purifier, water filter and a therapy lamp, will ensure that my students have access to clean air, water and natural lighting which has been proven to improve student performance by up to 20%. Recent studies have shown that improving air quality can not only improve student performance but reduces the transmission of airborne infections. We will also track as a class the air quality and water particulates as part of a class wide project in stewardship and environmental science. This will serve my class in the health of their bodies, but it will also allow them to make connections to an issue relevant to them. These items already have a place in my classroom; they will be placed strategically to improve ventilation and air quality so that my students can have the best advantage of having ready bodies and ready minds for learning.
