As we begin to see the light at the end of this pandemic disruption, our school is returning to face to face learning. We are excited to see our students creating digital content while exploring their world, creating documentaries, making meaning through dramatic storytelling. Students have felt like trapped passengers on a world-wide bus ride down a not so good street. It is important to help reinvigorate their positive creativity and re-engage their peers in the learning process.
After such an extended time of virtual learning and online classes, it is important to remind students of the joy of film making, the pride of creating and the magic of collaboration as they generate digital media.
Students will use these digital film making tools for a range of projects, from documenting ecological conditions in Maui, to processing the experience of pandemic through sci-fi short films.
It is right to say these tools will serve the whole school through the projects completed, while also helping individual students to heal through creativity, reclaim their generations' role as active shapers of the world, help them to develop their problem solving and collaboration skills all while feeling the pride of creating digital content for the whole school community.
Thank you so much!
