In my experience, CPR and the Heimlich are not skills that you acquire once. I had to learn it throughout my career as a nurse. You need practice to master this skill. I believe giving my students hands on experience at a young age could create a lifelong skill that could save a life. More than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside a hospital each year. CPR, especially if administered immediately after cardiac arrest, can double or triple a persons chance of survival. I would like to decrease this number by teaching as many students as possible. Please help me so that I can help my student who one day could help you or someone you know one day.
