These books have been selected with my students in mind and will help me build a classroom library for my students. As a first year teacher, I am just beginning to build my classroom library. I walked into a classroom that had very few grade-level novels to choose from, and knew that I had to give my students a better selection of reading materials. I aspire to give my students a print-rich learning environment by providing them with a classroom library with a variety of grade-level books to choose from. Children are often reluctant to read, but I believe that providing my students with the ability to choose books they are interested in will foster a love of reading in each of them. Reading expands a child's mind and develops their imagination in ways that no other activity can. A child's reading skills are critical to their success in school and I want to give my students the best possible chance for success. “Reading is essential for those who seek to rise above the ordinary.” – Jim Rohn
