I switched over from an ocean theme to a fun and bright colorful theme. Help me with the last finishing touches to my second grade classroom! Help me create a warm and welcoming home away from home! I already know where every single item is going to be placed in my classroom! The two runners will lay in the library area. I have labeled and organized every book by genre and placed in red baskets for easy access for my 2nd graders. Having the 2 colorful runners will make the library area warm, cozy, and fun. The students will meet in the designated area, where the 5x7 rug will be, to read, learn, write and collaborate with one another. This rug will go in front of my language arts wall that includes teaching and reviewing the following: spelling, phonics, grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension. This carpet is really going to bring all the elements of the classroom together. I can't wait to see it in the classroom as it is going to make everything pop! I have also asked for 2 red tablecloths to cover the tables where I will meet with students for small group instruction. The laminating sheets will be used for everything that I make myself to enhance student learning. Whether it be for flashcards, counting sheets, reading comprehension guides, name tags, or classroom projects. These laminating sheets help ensure that the items that I created are protected and help make them last longer. I want to ensure that my students will feel happy walking into my classroom. I want them to feel safe and loved. I believe making a classroom happy and cheery with bright colors will not only lift them up, but show them that I care.
