Every child needs something different, and with these materials I hope to teach my first graders (and learn from them) how to meet their own needs. We can't expect all children to sit the same way, express themselves the same way, or even shop for the same books. That's why I'm including a wobble seat on this list. I know there are students coming in to my class who would benefit from flexible seating, and I want them by to have a different option than sitting on the carpet. Individually these are very small items, but together they are the things that make a classroom--paintbrushes for the art center, magnets for the interactive word wall, bright and exciting level A and B books for kids who need a little support coming back from summer vacation. I'm so grateful that you're considering donating to our classroom. I know these materials will be cherished by these first graders and those in years to come.
