Since we are starting a new reading program this year we will have many more books to put in our classroom library. Unfortunately the bookshelf we have has seen better days. We are in need of this book shelf to store the wonderfully interesting books we will read this year. Many students do not have books at home, therefore their only chance to experience the wonderful world of reading and holding a book in their hands is at school. I never want them to lose that opportunity. We are also in need of dry erase markers for use with their new phonics and word study curriculum. Instead of the every day paper and pencil writing we are trying to make learning fun and engaging for the students. I have observed in the past that students love writing on a dry erase board. When they find something that makes learning fun and interesting for them I would love for them to have the resources readily available.
