My students only have two choices when they come to school: sitting on hard school chair or on the floor. I'd like to provide my students more options to choose how they want to spend a day learning. Flexible seating will help them to improve concentration and focus in the classroom. I know that my students will enjoy learning while they move! I'd like to make my class student-centered where they own their learning. Since my class is a combo, my students will be doing many individual works and using technologies independently. I am planning to provide them wobble chairs, lap desks, and therapy (stability) balls in addition to a standing desk (which I am currently fixing its legs) to my class. I am sure that these options would help them focus on their tasks because they wouldn't feel uncomfortable or stressed being in a position where they "have to be" right now. Also, I am planning to set a classroom rule and expectations regarding flexible seating to make sure that it benefits all of my students. Please help me to start the new school year with comfy classroom!
