Flexible seating options like ball chairs, bubble cushions and wobble stools excite students while also allowing them an outlet for their wiggles helping them to focus on assignments. Chair bands offer students a chance to move their feet quietly with some resistance to offer resistance to calm them without disturbing others. Classrooms are busy and sometimes noisy which is way too much sensory input for some students, so noise cancelling headphones, fidgets, and microbead pillows can soothe anxiety and enable learning. When students are offered the option to leave their desk and work where they feel comfortable they are excited for the chance to work in their favorite spot on their favorite seat. Using a fun flex desk or lap pillow for their laptop can melt away the stress of a writing assignment. Calm, comfy students are creative and engaged in learning.
