In order to facilitate collaboration as well as to allow my students the choice of where they work best, I allow them to choose where they want to work in the classroom. I have already purchased scoop chairs, 2 yoga balls and sit upon pillows. I am hoping to add a new rug, wobble stools and portable lap desks. These items will complete our classroom flexible seating project and allow my students the opportunity to work in whatever seating choice accommodates their learning style best. The children will become engaged academically and not be required to sit still in one seat for the entire school day. I have found that when my students can choose where to sit and who to work with they are much more productive and HAPPY to work because they are given the choice and have some independence within our classroom.
