I would love for my students to have a wonderful introduction to their academic careers! Learning as much English as possible during one school year is the goal, and engaging activities and materials can make that happen! Reading: In an age of increased technology, it is important that young readers experience the joy of holding a book and learn to read for pleasure as well as for academic gains. The science-themed books in this project are colorful, realistic, and of interest to young children. Multiple copies will allow students to read with peers and reduce any anxiety. Writing: The beauty of kindergarten is that by June, the students are able to write complete, detailed, fluent sentences in English, whereas in September we see letter-like scribbles. The composition books in this project are made exactly for this purpose by providing appropriate lines and spacing to support young writers...all with space above for illustrations! Listening: Developing listening skills and independence in kindergarten can be tricky! The cardboard dividers will help students focus and hone those skills critical for success in kindergarten and beyond!
