This project is multi-faceted and will serve many purposes. The cross-section of the earth will make students more excited about learning the earth's layers and will help them to understand how our earth is structured. The rock kit will allow students to understand the significance of rocks by seeing how many cool things are hiding in these seemingly ordinary everyday objects. Both of these topics are hard to get students excited about since they are more abstract concepts to convey the importance of. Also, the furniture and rugs will be replacing old, dirty and tattered items and will brighten up the classroom, making it feel and look cleaner, friendlier and more welcoming.
