Research shows that trauma causes structural changes in the brain, and strategies to regulate the brain are essential to overcoming those changes. Our students often struggle when they do not have the sensory input they need to regulate their brains and learn at their fullest potential. My project will help to provide a Calming Kit for each classroom and special area in our school so that students always have easy access to the tools they need to succeed. By placing the tools in each classroom, students will be able to regulate their brains without leaving the classroom and causing additional learning loss.
