This year we have elected to work with an amazing writing program! Often I have found that students are given opportunities to be strengthened in reading, but struggle when it comes to telling their own story through their writing. During the initial writing process, I will be showing a multitude of examples in hopes of setting each writer up for success. In doing so, the students will be sitting on the floor in close proximity while I give my own examples and some strategies as I guide them through the writing process. And to do this, I would like for my students to be comfortable while sitting on the carpet instead of on the cold (and sometimes not so pleasant) floor.
