Seat Sacks will provide each student with a special space for them to call their own. Students will have a storage space for their textbooks and materials conveniently located at their seat. This will minimize student traffic during transitions. With the right support and modeling, students will use their seat sacks to assume responsibility for keeping themselves organized. This will allow students more time for classroom work and activities and less time spent searching for their materials. This would minimize transition times. Seat sacks will be a tool for my students to learn to be organized and responsible. They will feel a sense of ownership, independence and success with a storage space of their own. Seat sacks will help save classroom time and space. In a 21st century world, self-management is imperative for students who will be college- or career-ready. One skill needed on the path to mastering self-management is the ability to keep oneself organized. This is the gift that seat sacks will provide my students.
