Scholastic News magazine offers students the opportunity to read relevant nonfiction at their level. Topics are exciting and relatable to students and presented in a variety of mediums. The reading is differentiated in several levels and even offered in Spanish for the ELL learners in my classroom. Scholastic News supports group research and learning and I am excited to bring it into my classroom on a regular basis. There are also video, review games and quizzes to supplement their learning. My hope is that regular exposure to nonfiction will assist students in finding topics they'd like to learn more about about and encourage students to research further.
