With your kind donations, I will be able to purchase bean bag chairs so that kids can have a comfortable space to sit and read during their dedicated library time. This will allow a space that is both comfortable and safe for students. A large carpet will be used in the computer lab to cut down on the noise of the machines, but also to make it seem less sterile and more inviting. I will also purchase air plants to sit in front of our library windows to liven up space and give the kids something to look forward to. Finally, I will purchase art and prints that both reflect and empower the children around me. Your donation will make the library a beautiful, comfortable, and safe space for students to go so they can read, learn and engage in an environment that is both reflective of their diversity and showcasing their potential. My hope is that once the school year starts, kids will want to come to the library before and after school just to chill out while they wait for parents or caregivers to pick them up.
