Many students lack appropriate reading materials. Having a classroom filled with exciting books of all types, students are able to explore a world not available to them anywhere else. They can learn about anything they are interested in and can grow their knowledge of the world around them, all while learning to read in our classroom! Books are used for a variety of lessons whether it be Math, Science, Manners, Exploring the world, Animals...there is so much more to a book than just learning to read. A collection of books and an alphabet rug will complete our classroom library and encourage young readers to explore the world through the books around them creating knowledge and awareness inside and outside of the classroom.
