Practice makes perfect and practice makes permanent in sports and especially in math. It takes time as well as repetition to understand different concepts. Students need multiple opportunities to work problems to be able to better their own skills. Homework is one way of giving such practice but may have some pounding their heads against a wall. With whiteboards and ways to practice in class, they give the students an opportunity to get help and show their thoughts, as well as avoiding any and all head pounding. The materials in this project will give my students ways and opportunities to practice, as well as provide me the tools to instruct them before they go on their own. I think we've all been in classes where a teacher is drawing something and it just looks like a flying duck. The board accessories included will help me paint a clear picture of a concept and avoid any "flying duck" moments.
