Our classroom has a designated area for supplies that are readily available for the students to complete their work. There's a basket that holds individual bags of an assortment of crayons and small buckets one for each type of supply such as, one is for pencils, another is for scissors, and a third is for markers. The community of supplies encourages independence and builds community among the students in the classroom as they share and interact while completing their work. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic it isn't safe for the students to share pencils, crayons and scissors and other supplies that are typically shared as a class community. So by providing each student with a special pencil case and his/her very own supplies will continue to provide independence and safety while learning at the same time.
