My lesson plans are filled with team assignments and book studies. A rug will be used as a place to meet and collaborate. My students enjoy working together on writing projects and reading. A rug for students to gather together and sit comfortably is on the top of our wish list. The rug will serve as a gathering place for group assignments and book clubs. I will read aloud the book, "A Letter to My Teacher". After, the read aloud, students will be encouraged to write a letter to me about themselves. Students will learn proper letter writing etiquette and be able to share some insight on themselves with me. The rug will , also, add to the welcoming and peaceful environment of our classroom. A central location to sit closely will promote collaboration and teamwork. The rug will encourage students to build on each other's strengths and grow together.
