It is my mission to create life-long readers. One of the many ways that I encourage reading is to make it fun. The chairs requested will assist me in creating a kid friendly, fun, and relaxing reading center within my classroom. This will be a place for my students to enjoy books of their choosing, explore the unknown, and travel the world while sitting in a comfortable place. The center is important because all academics are connected to reading. For most of my students, this center will be the only time that they will receive to steal away and read. Once they get home, they will have to take on responsibilities of adults, helping around the house, watching siblings, cooking, etc. It is my hope that the reading time in class will be so fun that it ignites a love for reading and, in turn, creates life-long readers.
