These materials will greatly impact our classroom environment and climate. For example, the playhouse cube will play an important role in our classroom peace center, it will serve as our "quiet cube". It will be used as a place for students to retreat to if they need a break from the whole group setting. Along with social and emotional learning and mindfulness techniques, students will use this cube to help them find calm. The focus for this project is the social and emotional well-being of my students. This includes providing them with resources that we can use to develop skills in emotional regulation and providing them with a literacy rich environment that portrays stories and characters that represent their diverse backgrounds.
