Social-Emotional Teaching can be the hardest thing to teach students. So many of the skills my students are lacking are ones we take for granted. The materials I am requesting will enhance their learning and give them more tools in their toolbox. Some of the materials will go towards my sensory room and the other materials are educational resources to help teach and promote self-regulation through practicing mindfulness in the classroom. "When little people are overwhelmed by big emotions, it's our job to share our calm, not join their chaos" - LR Knost. My students struggle with controlling emotions, as they come from some very difficult situations and do not have a good grasp on how to handle the effects of the trauma they have experienced. The materials I am seeking are needed to create optimal learning for my students. With the binding machine, I will be able to individualize their learning even more. These materials will give the students more hands-on learning.
