I love teaching choir and providing my students with every opportunity that was afforded to me as a child. My students, who are often described as at-risk minority youth, are grossly underrepresented in honors level ensembles and collegiate music programs. By empowering my students to take charge of their education through targeted musicianship skill development, I will (1) have a greater understanding of each student's competencies and (2) provide a flexible learning environment for all of my students. The 4 Lenovo Chromebooks will create the foundation for the choir lab. By staying after school for an hour every day, students who have no access to technology will have a chance to work on our music classroom's computer station. In this manner, all students will have EQUITABLE ACCESS to the resources I have created for our students in: (1) Sight Reading Factory; (2) Noteflight; (3) my Google Classroom; (4) the choir's YouTube channel; (5) Alfred's Essentials of Music Theory - computer lab packet; (6) musictheory.net, and many more! By having a large screen to display my digital learning resources, my section leaders will be able to easily facilitate student-led with their peers, including my visually impaired learners. After reading several reviews, the Ipevo IW2 Wireless Interactive Whiteboard System is the most budget friendly way to create this interactive writing board in the classroom.
