In first grade, we tend to do a lot of “carpet time”. I will use the carpet for students sharing stories among their classmates, to read aloud books to students, and to create a learning community where every student feels that they are “family”. This carpet will provide a barrier from the concrete floors and will allow all students to feel comfortable. This carpet is not just any carpet, it’s a special carpet that will bring my students and I together. My students deserve to feel the luxury of comfort in my classroom and a carpet will aid in this.
