Riding a tricycle not only provides fun and physical fitness but also teamwork, problem-solving, and social development. Tricycles provide children with opportunities to learn steering, scooting, climbing off and on, and left from right. As the muscles move through cycling motions, they are flexed, extended and stretched. Children also learn about taking turns, cooperation, and coordination. These activities enhance brain development because they are crossing the midline. When children are able to use tricycles they are using gross motor skills which leads to building fine motor skills. If a child does not have proper upper body strength or posture, they may have trouble learning writing. Tricycles are an important stepping stone to early childhood growth and development. Hurricane Harvey directly impacted Texas including the South Texas Region where we live.
