My students need a super-engaging work space—with spacious yoga balls and resources to be comfortable to move around the room! When I work, I want to be comfortable and sometimes it is not at a desk. The new furniture will provide my young students with a different option besides a hard chair. Many students also have attention problems, being able to move and change seating can eliminate the behavior issues that may arise. My students are full of energy and are learning to build relationships with their peers. Creating an environment where my young students feel empowered to take chances is critical to a successful year. Flexible seating is more than a comfortable area to learn, it's a step toward independence and an opportunity to learn to communicate and collaborate with others. The addition of the yoga balls, balance disk, and additions to an original chair would provide a comfortable area in my classroom for students to work together to problem-solve​ and develop a love of learning.
