My students rarely have access to a variety of literature. By having many options, my goal is that students will learn to love reading and therefore increase their vocabulary, comprehension and critical thinking skills. These books will give my students an opportunity to read often and choose to read for their own enjoyment and understanding. My hope is to have an expansive classroom library which can serve as both a mirror and a window to their lives. Offering students a variety of content and reading levels will encourage my struggling readers that they too can love to read. It has been proven that students who read everyday become better readers and increased literacy helps students be successful in all areas of school. By allowing my students to read a variety of books every day, they will increase their literacy and therefore their educational success.
