Many students dread English class. Why? Because it is a lot of reading and writing. This is true, but the things that I picked out will surely change their outlooks. Astrobright paper, glue, scissors, and other supplies will help to make learning fun. We can tackle grammar by making flipbooks and dive deeper into stories by creating art projects. Some examples include a movie advertisement for a novel or a wanted poster for a particular character. It is also important to have a positive learning environment, so I chose posters with words of encouragement to motivate students to have a growth mindset. The most important thing is that students enjoy what they are learning because that will encourage them to learn more. This will be my first year with my own room and I am excited to give students opportunities to be successful in a subject that tends to be challenging.
