Our small class library currently has some fiction books, but the students would greatly benefit from more science, technology, engineering, art, and math STEAM centered books. My students love hands on activities and so I try to align STEAM projects with stories. For example, I read "The Three Little Bears" and the students had a blast working in teams to build a chair just right for Goldilocks. The students love to explore new books but because of our limited class library they don't have the variety they need. They take home a few books each night as homework and I want to coordinate those books with the topics they learn in Kindergarten. As a reward for reading at school and at home, I love to give students books, but I want to be able to differentiate so the students can pick books at that are at their level.
