Students learn best through practice. When navigating new topics or technology, teamwork is vital to troubleshooting and problem-solving. Small screens of desktops are individual, contained workspaces. They can be hard to collaborate on, do not promote any gross motor movement, and essentially force one person to take the lead while classmates hover around with idle hands. In my Library Media Center, I aim to provide students with the tools and technology they need to apply technology to their learning and be able to share and explore their knowledge with their peers and community. With this technology, I will be able to turn walls, tables, or any surface into a touchscreen tablet. Students can use their hands, elbows, or feet to navigate screens promoting gross body movement and physical activity. Students will be able to use this technology during library media centers to support curriculum in small groups, present digital projects, navigate the internet play educational games. I would also be able to use this technology as an interactive whiteboard while demonstrating new computer programs and procedures.
