My kids come primarily from low income households, and do not always have access to instruments. A chance to play on accompaniments on a simple glockenspiel would excite the children about creating music. This will give my music classrooms a start with having the opportunity to use a barred instrument. As a music teacher who travels on a cart from class to class, a small barred instrument will be easy for me to bring around as a visit my different classes each week. Using a barred instrument will give the children a chance to work on rhythm, beat and harmony. They will get a chance to take turns trying out the instrument, and hopefully this will be a start to adding some more barred instruments into my available resources for my kids!
