The Scholastic News magazines will be used as a fun and engaging way to introduce some of the science concepts 2nd graders will be learning. I will then allow students to further explore these concepts in hands on ways. I also plan to use these magazines as a way to get students to find text evidence for questions they need to answer. The kindness picture books will be used during read aloud to help promote kindness, integrity, and support of others. I have seen some of my students struggle with kindness and empathy and these books will allow use to learn valuable lessons in fun and engaging ways.
